A grid gives way to an explosion.

Radiance is divided by a single diagonal line, and on either side of it two completely different energies take hold. Above and to the left, a structured grid of small windows in cool greens, blues, and violets sits calmly within a warm brown framework — each pane filled with fine wavy linework, like light moving across glass. A single sphere, cross-hatched and softly colored, floats free of the grid, breaking its order.

Below and to the right, structure dissolves into radiance. A burst of golden yellow rays explodes outward from a half-circle core, set against deep saturated orange and red, scattering circular forms and tapering spikes across the lower portion of the page like seeds thrown from the center of detonation.

The contrast between the two halves is the entire piece — containment versus release, cool versus warm, geometry versus explosion. Rendered in Pigma Micron ink and brought to life with the saturated, blendable color of Copic markers, Radiance is one of the most vividly colored works in the Aurora collection.
