Something has come apart, violently and precisely.

Fissure radiates from a single empty point at its center — four jagged formations pulling outward like shattered glass, torn rock, or lightning frozen mid-strike. Each fragment is built from dense, controlled cross-hatching, giving the shards real weight and dimension, as if light were catching their broken edges. Scattered black dots drift through the open space between them, debris suspended in the silence after impact.

The composition holds its tension in that empty center — four fractures reaching outward from a void, never quite resolving, never quite settling. It is the moment just after the break, before anything has had the chance to fall.

Rendered entirely in ballpoint pen — a deceptively simple tool capable of remarkable depth and texture in the right hands — Fissure shows the same obsessive, patient mark making found throughout the Monolith collection, applied to a medium that offers no second chances.
