Elevator — OriginalFine liner pen and ink on paper — Monolith CollectionOriginal, one of a kind · Signed by the artist

Every shape here is waiting its turn.

Elevator reads less like a single image and more like a catalog of forms — ellipses, spheres, hexagons, arrows, bars, and textures arranged in orderly columns and rows, each one rendered with a different fill: cross-hatching, stippling, solid black, untouched white. It has the feel of components laid out before assembly, parts of something larger not yet revealed.

Through the center of it all, a single dramatic curl rises and twists — a thick black ribbon spiraling upward and back down, dotted with a chain of circles climbing its length like beads on a string. It cuts straight through the orderly rows on either side, the one organic gesture in a composition otherwise built from careful, contained shapes.

In the upper right, a dense burst of wild linework escapes the grid entirely — a tangle of thin curling lines breaking free from a solid black circle, the one moment in the piece where containment fails completely.

Elevator rewards close, patient looking. Every individual form was rendered by hand using fine liner ink, no two textures repeated, no mark undone — nearly 40 hours invested in a composition where every element has its place.
