Builders Sphere - Original
Builder's Sphere
Fine liner pen and ink on paper — Monolith Collection
Original, one of a kind · Signed by the artist
There is one quiet thing at the center of this piece. Everything else is in motion around it.
Builder's Sphere began — like all of Matt's work — with a single line. What followed was instinctive: angular shards and geometric fragments colliding with interlocking ribbons of fine liner linework, building outward from a central dotwork sphere rendered in careful pointillism. The sphere sits suspended in open white space, perfectly still while the composition erupts around it.
In fine liner ink work, every line is a direct record of a decision — conscious or instinctive. There is no undoing, no erasing. What you see in Builder's Sphere is exactly what was drawn, in the order it was drawn, with nothing added or altered digitally afterward.
This is a piece that changes the longer you look at it. Details emerge. Intersections reveal themselves. The chaos becomes deliberate.
